Apple computers* with OSX will work for your Distance Ed course, but you'll need to use FireFox as your main web browser to take your course since Safari does not work well for this. If you don't have FireFox already installed on your Mac, you can get it from www.getfirefox.com. You need to configure FireFox to turn off its popup blocker** and all other popup blockers on your computer.
You'll need the same software that Windows users will need to be able to take your online course and you'll find out more about that at our software page.
* Because of restrictions by Apple so that iPhones and iPads cannot have the Flash plugin for their web browsers and because Safari does not work properly with our online courses we do not currently recommend these 2 products as suitable for your courses.
**To turn off FireFox's popup blocker go to the menu choosing FireFox and then Preferences and under the Content tab uncheck Block Popup Windows.
